Fall Experiences in Waterton

What to do in Waterton in the Fall

Fall provides amazing backdrops to many seeking that perfect photo-op for their next Christmas card. In Waterton, fall offers an experience of solitude as the former busy streets filling with vehicles and visitors are now filled with wildlife, the real locals of the park.

There are many unique vantage points to soak up fall in Waterton, here are our top 5:

  • Bear’s Hump – short but steep one hour hike that provides a beautiful view of the townsite. This view is the most famous view and a definite favourite trail of locals and visitors alike.
  • Blakiston Falls (Red Rock Canyon) – An impressive waterfall a short walk from Red Rock canyon- it’s worth it, trust us!
  • Cameron Lake – A short drive from the townsite with breathtaking views! Emerald coloured water reaches far into the distance toward the backdrop of Mount Custer. Soak it in.
  • Prince of Wales – Either drive up to view our iconic Waterton valley or take a stroll up the Prince of Wales Hill.
  • Driftwood Beach – Located just off the entrance road, turn right into the parking area after you pass the Parks Canada Operations building and find yourself on this unique patch of shoreline. Driftwood from Waterton Lakes washes up on shore and creates a beautiful natural mosaic of rock and wood, where you will find multicoloured rocks and one of the best views of the Prince of Wales Hotel.
