Waterton Weddings

Visualize yourself being pampered at the spa, relaxed and stress-free, the day before you say “I do” with your soulmate. What are your guests doing? They could be hiking, golfing, horseback riding or paddle boarding. It doesn’t matter, because without a doubt, they’re immersed in Waterton’s magic, soaking in the many unique experiences available.

But what about the planning? Already done! Several venues offer local wedding experts to ensure that your wedding is as intimate as this Charmed Mountain Village. Small gatherings of up to 25 people can be considered for public areas of the Waterton Lakes such as picnic areas, along the lake and other day use areas. A Small Gathering Application Form will need to be submitted for review by Parks Canada.

Wedding & Convention Venues 

1. Bayshore Inn & Spa (Resort & Convention Centre)

  • Capacity & Facilities: Offers space for 10–250 guests, with the largest conference facility in the Park, plus smaller meeting rooms for more intimate gatherings .
  • Ambience & Services: Features a lakefront setting for ceremonies and receptions (indoor/outdoor), onsite wedding coordinator, elegant touches like flower archways, chair covers, and spa services at Serenity Spa.
  • Smaller weddings are available at Lakeside Chophouse, Waterton’s premier fine dining restaurant. Capacity ranging from 45 – 150 guests for indoor weddings.

2. Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort (Weddings & Events)

  • Capacity: Accommodates groups up to 120 guests in both indoor and outdoor spaces .
  • Features: Includes catering via Vimy’s Lounge & Grill, guest accommodations, and a convenient central location within the townsite .
  • Outdoor Settings (Beargrass Field & Mountain View Patio)
  • Mountain View Patio: A lovely, semi-enclosed patio perfect for intimate ceremonies (up to 15 guests), expandable to ~50 with indoor seating .
  • Beargrass Field: A stunning outdoor lawn that can seat up to 100 seated or 250 standing guests, with views of Crandell and Bertha mountains .

4. Kilmorey Lodge Lawn & Dining

  • Lawn: Idyllic lakeside ceremony site at Emerald Bay, with gazebo or arches—up to 80 guests .
  • Dining Room & Patio: Indoor space seating 80, with adjoining patio for 70 more—must be booked together.

5. Waterton Community Centre

The Waterton Community Centre was originally a school back in 1927. Today it is operated and used for a variety of events. The 96-year-old facility has been newly renovated, keeping its rustic qualities of the school. It is nestled in Waterton’s National Park offering an unforgettable setting for your special event.

6. Scenic Park Locations (Parks-Canada Permitted Spots)

  • Permitted Ceremony Spots (≤25 guests):
    • Grass along Cameron Creek, across from Cameron Falls
    • Lakeshore of Upper Waterton Lake, including Cameron Bay & Driftwood Bay
    • Other less-visited day-use areas .
