Akamina Lake

Akamina Lake

The trailhead is located just before Cameron Lake on the Akamina Parkway. Walk through marshy forest to the small lake where Cameron Creek flows into. Moose enjoy this area and are often seen eating the vegetation at the bottom of the lake. Birds like the Stellar’s Jay nest in the surrounding trees and the damp ground is often scattered with mushrooms in the fall season. Walk through the forest to Cameron Lake, following the creek and its clear streams that are excellent spawning grounds for different species of trout.
