The Bellevue trailhead can be accessed via the Red Rock Parkway (look for the photogenic bear on the road) or conversely from the Bison Paddock. This relatively flat trail takes you through fescue grasslands and aspens groves as you traverse along the eastern face of Bellevue Mountain. A plethora of wildflowers in the spring makes this a magical walk to behold. 360 degree views are essentially available during the entire walk, giving unencumbered views of mountains meeting prairies. Elk, wolves, coyotes and black bear are some of the common wildlife sightings. Arrange a ride so you can complete this as a one way hike or return the same way at your own leisure.
