Emerald Bay

The perfect place to spend some time on the water, or to relax on the shores of Waterton Lake. Located just on the edge of the townsite by the Marina, Emerald Bay is walking distance to downtown Waterton. This bay lives up to its name with a beautiful emerald hue but is also known as “Farmers Bay” to many, so don’t be confused if you hear it referred to as such. Bring the kayaks, SUPs or canoes and launch your adventure from here, or just enjoy paddling around the bay and its calmer waters. Don’t have your watercraft? Rent one from one of the local businesses! A great swimming spot with warmer shallow areas, its great for kids and is a hot spot for local and visiting families. On a warm day its common to see people dotting the shoreline enjoying the summer sun and floating around the water. Scuba diving is also popular in the bay as the shipwreck of the Gertrude lies on the lake bottom just off shore.
