Forum Lake

A lovely hike through an old growth forest, Forum Lake is located in Akamina-Kishenina Provincial Park in British Columbia. Follow the old forestry road as it climbs to Akamina Pass and then descends to a junction. Take a left (south) towards Forum Lake. Before heading towards the lake take a side trip to the not-to-be-missed Forum Falls. Return back to the junction and continue to hike through the forest, then up a steeper grade that then levels off into a grassy meadow. Look for the Pikas that enjoy this meadow and enjoy views of the lake where impressive talus slopes and rock walls surround it. Larch trees are common and in the fall season turn an impressive golden hue. From here you can see Forum peak above the lake, the point where Alberta, British Columbia and Montana meet! Continue on from here on the loop if you are doing Akamina Ridge.
