Summit Lake

This shorter hike climbs steadily upwards on long comfortable switchbacks. See views of Cameron Lake below and the Continental Divide across the valley. Hike up through the old growth forest, and see the wind fallen trees, with root systems exposed. Crest the ridge up into a wide meadow with the endangered White Bark pine. The small and tranquil Summit Lake sits just beyong on a plateau with Mt. Custer and Chapman Peak, which are located in Glacier National Park, USA, creating the backdrop. Moose can often be seen here, making it many a wildlife watchers favourite spot.
