We are a Local Family Owned and Operated business. In 1922 William & George Baker started Park Transport Company, a transportation and sporting goods outfit. Over the years the business has grown and changed, passed down to each successive generation of the family. With pride and hard work, the Tamarack has become a leading source for quality products and hiking advice in the Canadian Rockies.

Guided Adventures

Join our local, experienced, and licensed National Park hiking guides for a Waterton adventure you won’t forget. We offer Day Hikes, Interpretive walks, Wildflower sessions and even Art Lessons on the trail. We specialize in small group sizes for family and friends, but also provide assistance for Adventure Travel Groups. Customize a trip that will suit your adventure level and group size.

Hiker Shuttles and Transportation

We offer daily shuttles to the Carthew-Alderson trailhead, Chief Mountain Border Crossing and a backpacking shuttle for those hiking the Tamarack Trail. Custom Hiker Shuttles around Waterton and area are also available.

A Family Business

The Tamarack is owned by the Baker & Tetzlaff Family. They celebrated 100 years of doing business in Waterton in 2022 and 6 Generations of the Family call Waterton home. Memebers of the family are some of the few year-round residents of Waterton.

Fun Fact

Recently our former Park Transport storage building was used as a set for the hit HBO series “The Last of Us”. We got to experience life on set and see the transformation of the building as well as Main Street, Waterton!
