Twin Lakes

Accessible via the Snowshoe Cabin trail or the Blakiston Valley trail, these lakes are most often visited as part of the backcountry overnight hike, the Tamarack Trail. From the cabin, it is a steady uphill climb through dense forest that brings you to Upper Twin Lake. From the Blakiston Valley junction you will travel north towards the lakes. A backcountry camp site is located here so you can spend the night and continue on the Tamarack Trail in either direction. You can purchase a permit at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. Lower Twin Lake is just beyond the upper lake, and the meadows surrounding them are filled with wildflowers and In the right season, our favourite, Beargrass.
